CHICAGO-Shorewood Development Group has begun one shopping center project and is making plans to start work on two others in the greater Chicago area.

The Buffalo Grove-based firm recently began work on Meacham Gatherings, a 19,000-square-foot shopping center at 900 N. Meacham Road in Schaumburg. The center is 75% leased to retailers such as: Protein Bar, Roti and Potbelly Sandwich Works.

In Countryside, Louis Schriber, founding partner and CEO of Shorewood, tells Chicago Real Estate Daily that his firm plans to break ground this month on a multi-building shopping center near La Grange and Joliet roads that will include a 7,400-square-foot Texas Roadhouse, as well as a Starbucks, Vitamin Shoppe and Potbelly location.

Shorewood also is poised to begin construction on a project near Fifth Street and U.S. 34 in Oswego that will include a 6,900-square-foot building leased to a Noodles & Co., Supercuts and Potbelly. Another 5,700-square-foot building is more than 50% leased to an urgent-care clinic, he adds. See story in Chicago Real Estate Daily.
