BALTIMORE-A Baltimore Circuit Court judge issued a court order on Monday halting construction work until at least Friday on the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore project.
Judge Yolanda Tanner issued a temporary restraining order against CBAC Gaming, the city and the Maryland Department of the Environment based on a lawsuit brought by Westport residents regarding alleged irregularities in the environmental cleanup of the site, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Attorneys for the Westport residents complained that work had begun on the Horseshoe Casino in spite of assurances given from the casino owner's lawyer last week that it would not engage in any construction activity before Friday's hearing. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
