ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ-New Jersey State Superior Court Judge Alexander Carver III has ordered LG Electronics USA Inc. to reach an agreement with preservation groups over the company's new headquarters plans.
Specifically, the preservationists, LG and Bergen County have been at odds over the project's impact on views of the surrounding Palisades. The rectangular, glass-covered building would break the tree line of the scenic Palisades and would be the only high-rise north of Fort Lee that could be seen from the New York side of the Hudson River, according to The Record.
The court order puts on hold the litigation against the borough filed to prevent LG from building the 143-foot-tall corporate headquarters at 111 Sylvan Ave. here. See story in The Record.
