NEW YORK CITY-The owner of 650 Madison Ave has put the 57-year-old office building on the market for sale. Perhaps the decision is no coincidence to the $1.1-billion sale of the nearby Sony building recently.
The 27-story office building, which totals approximately 600,000 square feet, could be converted to residential units in the deal, Crain's New York Business reports. Reports of an asking price of $1.3 billion could not be confirmed.
Eastdil Secured, which brokered the sale of the Sony Building, is handling the sale of 650 Madison Ave on behalf of the Carlyle Group. See story in Crain's New York Business.
