NEW YORK CITY-SL Green Realty Corp. has hired the Carlton Group to sell the land under the Lipstick Building on 53rd Street.

The New York City-based REIT has hired Howard Michaels of the Carlton Group to market the land under the property recently made infamous as the former home of Bernard L. Madoff Securities, according to the New York Post. SL Green has owned the property under the building since 2010.

The 650,00-square-foot, 27-year old building on Third Avenue is operated separately by a group led by Inversiones y Representaciones Sociedad Anóma and Guess founders Paul and Maurice Marciano under a lease that expires on April 30, 2077. The law firm Latham & Watkins is the property's largest tenant at 350,000 square feet. See story in the New York Post.
