ALBUQUERQUE-The Albuquerque Business Journal reports that Colliers International, headquartered in Seattle, has entered New Mexico by striking a deal with Grubb & Ellis | New Mexico, one of the state's oldest and largest commercial real estate firms. The conversion became effective April 1, and the local commercial real estate firm is now known as Colliers | New Mexico.
“We were looking for a company that was well-established and recognized throughout the country,” said John Ransom, managing director of Colliers | New Mexico in the Business Journal article. “We like that they are very strong and have huge corporate relationships throughout the world.” Ransom, whose position with Grubb & Ellis | New Mexico was senior vice president and principal, also noted that Colliers is what Grubb & Ellis was once before it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2012. Following the bankruptcy, Grubb & Ellis merged with New York's Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, but some Grubb & Ellis affiliates still existed.
