CHESTER, WV-MTR Gaming President and CEO Jeffrey Dahl announced yesterday his plans to resign in order to pursue other business opportunities. Among the company's holdings include the Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, PA.
The locally-based gaming company reports that Dahl will remain president and CEO while the company's board of directors conducts a search for his successor, according to an Associated Press report. However, Dahl's resignation from the company's board of directors is effective immediately.
MTR also owns Scioto Downs in Columbus, OH as well as Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester, WVA.
“I'm proud of the progress and accomplishments we created at MTR Gaming during my tenure," Dahl states in a prepared statement. "The opening of our gaming facility (Scioto Downs) has put the company on a successful path."
The more than 30-year gaming veteran, was appointed to his current position in January 2011. In March, MTR reported a fourth-quarter loss of nearly $5.5 million, or 20 cents per share, on net revenues of $116.3 million. See story in The Inquirer.
