GREENSBURG, PA-The Richard King Mellon Foundation has given Seton Hill University its largest gift ever in the form of a $7-million grant to be used toward the construction of a new Health Sciences Center here.

Seton Hill University says in a statement released today that the grant will be used toward the development of the 52,000-square-foot facility, according to the Pittsburgh Business Journal. Other funds earmarked for the $21.5-million project include $1.5-million gift from The Katherine Mabis McKenna Foundation, $750,000 from an anonymous donor, and $3 million raised from trustees, alumni and friends of the school.

The Health Science Center project is part of a $75-million campus expansion and renewal plan. Construction is expected to begin in the fall and should take 18 to 24 months to complete. See story in the Pittsburgh Business Journal.
