NEW YORK CITY-Developer Juan Figueroa has plans to build a 250-room boutique hotel next to the historic Williamsburgh Savings Bank building in Brooklyn.
The hotel, which is in its early planning stages, could rise as high as 40 stories on a site next to the former bank building at 175 Broadway, according to The Real Deal. The bank building has undergone extensive renovations and is expected to open later this year as event space.
Figueroa acquired the Williamsburgh Savings Bank building from HSBC in 2010 for $4.5 million and since then has spent approximately $3 million on renovations. See story in the Real Deal.
