PHILADELPHIA-Locally-based retailer Five Below reports it is launching six new stores on Friday in Michigan that will bring its portfolio there to 18 locations.

The six stores that will open on Friday are: Fairplain Plaza at 970 E. Napier Ave., in Benton Harbor; Maple Hill Mall at 5210 West Main St. in Kalamazoo; Meridian Towne Center at 4904 Marsh Rd. in Okemos; West Valley at 3435 Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw; Crossings at Taylor at 23853 Eureka Road in Taylor; and Waterside Marketplace at 50579 Waterside Dr. in Chesterfield.

“Our Michigan customers have voted, and they've shown tremendous enthusiasm for Five Below's brand-name, trend-right merchandise for teens, pre-teens, and shoppers of all ages,” states Tom Vellios, CEO and co-founder of Five Below. “In opening these six stores, we'll create new opportunities for local Michigan communities to find a dynamic assortment of tech, fashion, beauty, crafts, and seasonal must-haves, all priced at $1 to $5.”

Five Below, a specialty value retailer for teens and pre-teens, operates in 19 states. The company plans to open up to 60 new stores in 2013, which will bring the number of locations to approximately 300.
