PHOENIX-Business Real Estate Weekly reports that WinCo Foods LLC of Boise, ID has paid close to $12 million to buy 74 acres in west Phoenix. The discount grocer is planning to build an 800,000-square-foot warehouse on the land, with construction anticipated to begin in May.
According to the article, WinCo bought the land at Buckeye Road and 75th Avenue from Swift Transportation Co. of Arizona LLC. Ed Beeh, Chuck Gibson and Robbie Petty of SRS Real Estate Partners represented the buyers. BREW reports that the all-in costs for the project will exceed $90 million, and the grocery chain will pay cash for the construction.
