BETHESDA, MD-Two years after a court denied a request to block the project, Suburban Hospital's expansion plan will go before the Montgomery County Planning Board later this month.

The board has scheduled a hearing on April 18 to discuss the site plan application that calls for a 235,000-square-foot addition to its facility at 8600 Old Georgetown Rd. If approved, the project would be the first clinical expansion at the hospital since 1979.

The existing 323,100-square-foot building would be combined with the new addition by removing 10 hospital-owned houses, a two-story administrative building and garage and replacing those with a four-story building and new 1,125-space garage. See story at Bethesda Now.
