NEW YORK CITY-The New York City Council on Tuesday voted to allow real estate development firm Youngwoo & Associates to move forward on its plans to redevelop Pier 57 at West 15th St.
The plan, which won unanimous approval from the council, involves the renovation of an existing building that takes up nearly the entire pier and transforming it into an urban mall, according to Crain's New York Business.
The Youngwoo proposal also includes about 100,000 square feet of public space, a majority of which will on the property's roof. The Tribeca Film Festival will use the roof as an outdoor theater. See story in Crain's New York Business.
