HARLEYSVILLE, PA-A ceremony was held on Thursday to officially launch the start of the $20-million renovation of the Harleysville Insurance headquarters building in Montgomery County.

Harleysville Insurance, which became part of Nationwide Insurance almost a year ago, employs 900 workers at the 1950 circa building on Maple Avenue in lower Salford. At the ceremony, executives from both Nationwide and Harleysville planted a tree outside the facility.

Planned renovations include a new HVAC system, new lighting and building technology systems, new furniture, a new cafeteria, and additional meeting space. The building's entrance and exterior courtyard will also be rebuilt. See story @ phillyburbs.com.
