WASHINGTON, DC-Developer Donald Trump says that after a year of negotiations with the General Services Administration, his real estate firm is “weeks away” from finalizing a lease agreement that would allow him to move forward with the Old Post Office Pavilion redevelopment project.

Trump plans to convert the facility into a Trump-brand hotel. Trump and his daughter Ivanka spoke on Wednesday at a breakfast meeting at the Washington Post. He also revealed that he is in discussions with Tiffany & Co., about possibly opening a store at the site, according to the Washington Post.

The GSA picked the Trump firm and Colony Capital from a number of bidders for the project in February 2012, but has not finalized a lease deal as yet. See story in the Washington Post.
