WAYNE, NJ-A victim of last year's Hostess Brands bankruptcy, the shuttered Drake's factory here is on the market for sale.
The property, which until last year employed 320 workers, was put on the market after a series of auctions found no buyer, according to The Record.
The Hilco Organization of Northbrook, IL, which is selling the property, has set a June 12th deadline for interested parties to make an offer on the nearly 20-acre parcel. The equipment at the plant is being sold separately.
Joel Schneider, senior vice president of The Hilco Organization, says, "If the equipment is still in there, there is certainly more of a chance" it will stay as a bakery. But there is probably multiple uses for that property." See story in The Record.
