PHILADELPHIA-Public Health Management Corp. reports that it will shift its company headquarters from 260 South Broad St. to 1500 Market St. early next year. The non-profit public health institute will occupy 125,000 square feet at the former Comcast headquarters tower.
PHMC, which employs more than 1,700 social workers, nurses, and bookkeepers, will occupy five floors at 1500 Market when it relocates approximately 800 workers there in early 2014.
“With the new space, we have taken cutting-edge ideas that work in the business world and applied them to the nonprofit environment. The design reflects the way people work today and encourages a culture of collaboration, creativity and efficiency,” states Richard Cohen, CEO of PHMC. “The new environment will transform the way we work in a way that no other nonprofit in the region has done before. I'm very excited about the possibilities and what this means for the future of PHMC.”
PHMC is arranging to lease the mezzanine level of the tower plus four upper floors, according to the Inquirer. The mezzanine will have a common area with a cafe, gym, and "help office" for laptop and smartphone issues, according to Cohen. The four upper floors will have an “open, industrial feel,” Cohen adds.
