MEMPHIS, TN—Floor and Décor Outlets of America is opening its first store in Tennessee—and just inked the largest retail real estate lease in the Memphis market this year. The lease spans 75,134 square feet.
This new store positions the 13-year-old, Atlanta-based hard surface flooring retailer at one of the busiest Interstate interchanges in Memphis. Danny Buring, a partne at The Shopping Center Group, represented the retailer.
“The retailer will feature unique product offerings targeted to a large customer base,” Buring tells GlobeSt.com. “The location alone is heavily traveled and will serve a significant portion of the market by drawing customers from 100 miles.”
Indeed, Floor & Décor expects to draw customers from a 100-mile area to its new location at Perimeter Shopping Center near the intersection of Interstates 40 and 240. About 60% of the Memphis MSA is within a 15-minute drive from the site, which features a traffic count of more than 100,000 cars a day. Perimeter is a 370,000-square-foot shopping center managed by Belz Enterprises, Inc.
Floor & Décor expects to open the store by mid-July with plans to open a total of eight stores across the country this year. The Shopping Center Group is searching for locations.
