EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ-The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority has scheduled a special board meeting on Friday where “formal action may be taken, including but not limited to, actions regarding the American Dream project.”
While public officials, including Gov. Chris Christie, have stated that construction on the shopping and entertainment project would resume shortly, the developer, Triple Five, continues to talk with the neighboring Giants and Jets over issues the football franchises have with the project.
The sports authority board has yet to grant final approval to the revised American Dream master plan, which calls for a 638,000-square-foot indoor amusement park and water park project that would connect to the current 2.3 million-square-foot facility, according to The Record.
The American Dream development is not expected to open before October 2014 even if work resumes in the near term. See story in The Record.
