MIAMI—If you go crane spotting in South Florida, more and more of the machinery is working on projects The Related Group is developing. Related just broke ground on BeachWalk and Iconbay.

Indeed, the “comeback cranes” of the last year—heralding the condo resurgence of Broward and Miami—are moving on from Apogee Beach and MyBrickell to BeachWalk by Pininfarina in Hallandale Beach. Altogether, Related has five properties underway.

"There was nothing in the area at that price point in pre-construction that offered a beach club and the rental program we offered, not to mention the fantastic design by Pininfarina,” Carlos Rosso, president of the Condominium Development Division at The Related Group, tells Globest.com. The 30-story BeachWalk follows the 22-story Apogee Beach in Hollywood, the first new construction in South Florida since 2007.

“We created a product that catered more to the snowbirds and Latin American buyers who want a hassle free unit in Hallandale,” Rosso says. “They use it for six or eight weeks per year and the rest of the year they have the ability to put it or not in the rental program of the hotel."

In Miami, Related has officially started construction on the 43-story Iconbay at 460 NE 28 Street. Iconbay in Edgewater is sold out. The project will feature tennis courts, private elevator access, fitness center, spa, infinity pool with private cabanas, private theater, as well as exclusive privileges at the new SLS South Beach hotel.
