KANSAS CITY, MO-The General Services Administration has sent out request for lease proposals to office building owners in downtown Kansas City for space that will house about 1,000 federal agency workers.
The GSA has set a deadline for submissions for June 7. The agency is looking for approximately 150,000 square feet of contiguous space, according to GSA Heartland Regional Administrator Jason Klumb.
"We expect to sign a lease and announce the location before the end of 2013," Klumb says. "And we expect to move before the end of 2014."
The leasing plan was announced in February 2012 after GSA's plan to build a downtown office building of approximately 250,000 square feet was abandoned, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
The selected location for the new GSA lease will accommodate the agency's move from the Bannister Federal complex. See story in the Kansas City Business Journal.
