MIAMI-The first U.S. hotel for COMO Hotels and Resorts is scheduled to open in Miami Beach in mid-December.

COMO Hotels and Resorts, a Singapore-based hospitality company, currently operates nine properties worldwide. Including the Miami Beach property, the portfolio will grow to 13 later this year, according to the Miami Herald.

The hotel being built at the site of the former Traymore Hotel at 2445 Collins Ave., will feature 74 rooms, two pools, a spa and a seafood restaurant. The site is undergoing a full gutting. COMO acquired the circa 1939 building last year for $17.5 million. See story in the Miami Herald.
