NEW YORK CITY-The Brooklyn Tech Triangle is scheduled to unveil a master plan on Tuesday geared at creating or repurposing existing space in the borough to accommodate the fast growing technology sector.

The master plan authored by the triangle, which consists of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, the Dumbo Business Improvement District and the Brooklyn Navy Yard, will look to transform four blocks of run-down warehouses along the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway adjacent to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, according to Crain's New York Business. To accomplish this, the tech triangle is hopeful it can create a new zoning framework, known as the “Brooklyn Special Innovation District.”

"This whole effort is born from the concept that this special thing is happening in Brooklyn, and it's all been organic growth," says Tucker Reid, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. "Now we need to figure out how we can foster that growth with public support, so it continues to blossom and spread." See story in Crain's New York Business.
