ARLINGTON, VA-B.F. Saul Co. has been given the green light by Arlington County to redevelop the former Colony House Furniture site into a 168-room Hilton Homewood Suites extended-stay hotel.

The Bethesda, MD-based developer secured a zone change from the Arlington County Board on June 15 that will allow it to demolish the former Colony House Furniture store at 1700 Lee Highway and build a new eight-story, art deco-styled hotel building.

"This is a great development for the site," Arlington County Board Chairman Walter Tejada stated. "The project will provide more hotel options in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor and will bring new life and attractive architecture to this intersection." See story in the Washington Business Journal.
