CHICAGO-Google intends to relocate from its Kinzie St. building in River North to approximately 200,000 square feet of space at the Fulton Market Cold Storage Building at 1000 W. Fulton St. in the West Loop about three years from now.
Jim Lecinski, the head of the company's Chicago office and its vice president for US sales and service, made the announcement on Thursday. The Mountain View, CA-based firm currently occupies approximately 150,000 square feet at its Chicago offices on Kinzie St.
Its new offices are being built by Chicago-based Sterling Bay Cos., which is redeveloping the industrial building for offices. The company employs approximately 500 workers in Chicago, about half of whom are engaged in sales and marketing. See story in the Chicago Tribune.
