AYNOR, SC-As promised, PTR Industries of Bristol, CT has decided to move to this South Carolina town here about a half-hour from Myrtle Beach over Connecticut's new tougher gun law.

The new gun law was passed in response to the massacre last December at Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed 26 lives, including 20 children.

PTR, which employs 42 workers in Connecticut, states that more than half will make the move to South Carolina. The company plans to employ approximately 145 people by 2016, according to the Wall Street Journal. PTR is purchasing a 58,000-square-foot facility in Aynor for $3 million and is receiving an undisclosed amount of tax rebates, according to state and Horry County, SC officials.

"It's night and day from Connecticut," says PTR Chief Executive Josh Fiorini. "The average local citizen here is excited about industrial jobs, coupled with an excitement about our product line. Everybody wants to talk to you. Everybody wants a gun."

Fiorini adds that the company fielded offers from more than 40 states. See story in the Wall Street Journal.
