TAMPA-The developers of the proposed Residences at Riverwalk apartment tower here have offered to delay construction of the project until the curtain closes on the Broadway performances at the neighboring David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.
Developer Phillip A. Smith in an e-mail sent to Straz Center President Judith Lisi, stated, "We believe that this proposal alleviates those potential conflicts" and "gives us all a little room to breathe.”
Lisi says the proposed change in the construction schedule addresses "a primary urgent concern," according to the Tampa Bay Times.
"The question of the tower itself is another matter," Lisi adds.
The current proposal for the tower building calls for 380 apartments, a 620-space garage and 10,000 square feet of retail and restaurants. The City Council is expected to vote on the project on Aug. 8. See story in the Tampa Bay Times.
