NEW YORK CITY-For East Side residents, the progress on the 50 United Nations Plaza condo tower has been impressive indeed. In less than eight months, construction workers and the developer were able to stage a “topping off” ceremony for the 44-story building.

The building is the latest project by brothers William and Arthur Lie Zeckendorf, who have boldly stated the building will be the most technologically advanced in the city. The building is designed by British architect Norman Foster, according to Crain's New York Business.

“We haven't cut any corners," Arthur Zeckendorf said standing on the 34th story of the building, surrounded by more than 50 event attendees and construction workers on Wednesday. "You can't when you're working with Foster. He demands the best, and we do, too."

Work on the building is not expected to be finished until next year. However, sales are likely to commence in September. See story in Crain's New York Business.
