ATLANTA—Greystar Student Living has chalked up another student housing property management assignment. Developer Jamestown handed it management duties for the upcoming One West Victory Apartments, a student-focused development in Savannah, GA.

One West once served as the home of the old Savannah Ice Factory. Jamestown will revitalize two late 19th century buildings and construct one new building to develop a fully furnished 114-unit contemporary student living community at One West Victory Drive on the corner of Bull Street.

“As we considered the design of One West Victory, we felt it was important to preserve the past as a way to promote sustainable, smart growth," says Katharine Kelley, managing director at Jamestown. The community is scheduled to be completed by summer 2014.

Designed by HKS Architects, the urban community will use eco-friendly materials with modern décor designed by interior designer, Cortney Bishop. The student housing development will tap sustainable features such as low-flow water fixtures, high performance windows and energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems. The community will feature recycling centers, dedicated parking for bicycles, and a bike servicing station for residents. One West Victory is targeting LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

When completed, the student housing community will offer one, two and four-units. Planned amenities include an art studio, media center, study areas, fitness center, and an outdoor patio and courtyard space. One West Victory will also feature a 7,000-square foot, chef-driven restaurant and café open to the Savannah community.
