CHICAGO-In reaction to criticism from elected officials, neighborhood groups and historic preservation advocates, a partnership led by Related Midwest has revised its development plan for the Lathrop Homes complex on the riverfront here.

The revised plan reduces the number of housing units from 1,600 to 1,208 to be built on the 32-acre site, according to Chicago.curbed.com. Lathrop Community Partners, led by Related Midwest, must win approval of its revised plan from the Chicago Housing Authority, which owns the site, and two local City Aldermen.

Paul Sajovec, chief of staff for Alderman Scott Waguespack, says in reaction to the revised plan, "They've made some major adjustments and are headed in the right direction, but we shouldn't jump up and down because of part of what caused the problem in the first place is they went so far beyond" the maximum density.
