NEW YORK CITY-Janette Sadik-Kahn, commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation, and city planning czar Amanda Burden are reportedly discussing establishing their own urban planning policy institute after the administration leaves office.
The pair could decide to establish the institute on its own or as part of the Bloomberg foundation, a report in Crain's New York Business stated. A source told the newspaper that Kahn and Burden were considering launching a global consulting firm.
"Those two have traveled together on their own time," a former administration official told the newspaper. "They've done the urban-planning grand tour."
Kahn and Burden are the latest in a number of top officials of the Bloomberg administration planning their next move after their time at City Hall ends. See story in Crain's New York Business.
