PARIS-Pramerica Real Estate Investors has appointed Jocelyn de Verdelon to the new role of head of France, based in the firm's Paris office. He will also sit on Pramerica's European Executive Committee.

Pramerica is the European arm of the real estate investment and management business of Prudential Financial, Inc., which is headquartered in the United States.

Pramerica managed $9 billion in gross assets ($5.6 billion net) across Europe as of March, 31. The French office, which covers France, Belgium and Luxembourg, has invested more than $1.3 billion (€1.0B) across more than 30 assets on behalf of investors.

de Verdelon joins Pramerica from Altarea-Cogedim Group in Paris, where he has served since 2005, most recently in the role of office investments director. In this position he was responsible for the sourcing and execution of all acquisitions, focusing on value-add and opportunistic deals, as well as playing a key role in the fundraising, development and asset management activities at the company.

He was also a member of the Altarea-Cogedim Executive Management Committee. Before joining Alterea-Cogedim, de Verdelon spent three years at Entreprise Minière et Chimique, as special advisor to the chief executive officer, working on the company's privatization and asset disposal programme.

“Jocelyn's appointment to head our activities in France, one of the key European real estate markets, is an important step as we look to expand our presence in the region and strengthen our European platform with best in class talent in each local market,” said Raimondo Amabile, co-head of Europe at Pramerica. “Jocelyn has extensive experience in sourcing deals, particularly in the value-add and opportunistic space, and I look forward to working alongside him to take advantage of the opportunities we see in the French market.”
