LOWER MERION, PA-A preliminary plan to build a new 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market was endorsed by a key committee and is scheduled for a final vote on August 1 by the Board of Commissioners here.

Before the clock struck midnight on Wednesday the Board of Commissioners Building and Planning Committee recommended approval of WP Realty's preliminary plan for the Whole Foods Market to be built on East Wynnewood Road.

The new more modern and larger store would replace an existing location around the corner on Lancaster Ave., according to Mainlinemedianews.com. Whole Foods is hoping it can open the new location in the summer of 2015.

Seven existing structures, including two larger office buildings and several smaller commercial buildings, are to be demolished in connection with the project. See story at Mainlinemedianews.com.
