BALTIMORE, MD-As we reported yesterday, Jones Lang LaSalle is doubling its space here with a move to 500 East Pratt St. Its end goal is not just a new address, however; it has an eye to building out its local team. We caught up with Mark G. Levy, market director, Baltimore, to hear more about the office's plans.
Levy tells GlobeSt.com the JLL Baltimore office is focusing hiring in four areas: industry, both agency and tenant rep; capital markets; office agency; and office tenant representation.
"We will also make some additions to our multifamily group and add talent in the project and service development groups as well," he says. The company expects it will hire 15 people, give or take, over the next year.
In fact it has already started--Clare Berrang, formerly of Colliers has joined Baltimore's JLL group in the tenant rep division, Levy says. Another recent hire is Lindsay Summerfield for the industrial group; she also joins from Colliers.
As to why Baltimore and why now, Levy says the clients are behind the push. "Our clients are demanding more services here. They are interested in the Baltimore market and we are responding to their needs."
