KERNERSVILLE, NC-Lend Lease of New York City reports it has been selected by the Department of Veteran Affairs to design, build, and manage a new 280,000-square-foot VA Healthcare Center here.
The four-story healthcare center will provide primary and mental healthcare to veterans. Services will include dental, diagnostic, laboratory, pathology, radiology, as well as other ancillary services, the company reports. The design-build project will also feature more than 1,900 parking spaces. No development cost for the project was released.
"Lend Lease is honored to be awarded the opportunity to design, build, and manage this project for our country's heroes," states Gary Buechler, managing director of Lend Lease Development Inc. "As a national leader in healthcare development, we have the experience and expertise to deliver a world class facility for VA, and I am extremely proud to know that Lend Lease will create the best healthcare facility possible for our nation's veterans."
The healthcare center is designed by Perkins Eastman, which has incorporated many sustainable design features into the healthcare center and has designed the project for LEED Gold status upon project completion in the fall of 2015.
