NEWPORT BEACH, CA-GlobeSt.com has learned exclusively that CBRE has hired a team of tenant-representation specialists to represent occupiers of office space throughout Southern California as well as nationally. The team will be based in the firm's Newport Beach office.
The seven professionals, which include Rick Sherburne, Alex Hayden, Travis Boyd and Robert Taylor, as well as three of their associates, will focus on both local transactions and multi-market accounts. Sherburne, Hayden and Boyd will be EVPs, while Taylor joins as VP.
“Rick, Alex, Travis and Robert have handled many of the largest leases in the Orange County market, and they bring deep, long-term relationships with many of the region's largest office tenants,” say Jeff Moore and Kurt Strasmann, senior managing directors for CBRE's Orange County region. “The addition of this team to CBRE will bolster our leading tenant-rep presence in this market.”
The team was formerly with Cushman & Wakefield, where they completed, on average, more than 100 transactions per year for large tenants throughout Southern California and nationally. Sherburne, Hayden and Boyd had been executive directors at C&W since 2005, while Taylor was previously a director at that firm. Before that, they were with CBRE, where each started his career in commercial real estate.
Boyd tells GlobeSt.com, “We're really excited to be back at CBRE where many of us began our career. We think that it's a tremendous opportunity for us, and we're really excited about the platform and the resources at CBRE.”
Hayden tells GlobeSt.com that the team is excited about its opportunity at CBRE “because our goal is to grow our team, and the resources and platform that we have at CBRE will allow us to do that. We not only want to more-greatly service our existing clients, but we are looking to be able to obtain and service new, larger multimarket accounts, and we feel that the resources at CBRE will allow us to service and penetrate those accounts.”
According to Andrew Ratner, senior managing director of occupier services in Southern California for CBRE, “Rick, Alex, Travis and Robert are perfectly aligned with CBRE's values and our commitment to providing premier service to our occupier clients in Southern California and around the country. They bring a tremendous track record of orchestrating and negotiating major occupier transactions, and we look forward to working with them to bring the full power of CBRE's services offering to bear for the benefits of their clients.”
As GlobeSt.com reported last week, CBRErepresented Wal-Mart recently in the sale of a 99,894-square-foot building here on a 14.68-acre parcel. Nicholson, Cory Lowe, Dick Loffelmacher and Alex Martinac of CBRE's Portland office represented Wal-Mart in the transaction. The buyer is electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo, Inc., who acquired the building to accommodate a growing market demand.
