HARRISBURG, PA-A sharp increase in table game revenue at the Parx Casino helped boost overall revenues at the 12 Pennsylvania casinos to almost $60 million in July, a 6.1% increase from a year earlier.
Table game revenue at the Parx Casino shot up from approximately $7.9 million in July 2012 to $11.07 million in July 2013, according to a report released on Monday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The Parx Casino took the number two spot overall in terms of table game revenue, behind the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem with had a take last month of $12,950,101, a slight increase from approximately $12.5 million in July 2012.
The report shows $8.6 million in tax revenue was generated from table games last month at Pennsylvania casinos. Coupled with figures on slot machine revenue released earlier this month, overall gross revenue from both slots and tables was $264,860,050 this July, 1.7% lower than last year's total gross revenue of $269,354,774.
