NORTHVALE, NJ-Takasago International Corp. is moving its manufacturing operations here to a larger property in southern Orange County, NY.
The new Harriman site has 130,000 square feet of manufacturing space for the Japanese fragrance company as compared to the 40,000 square feet it currently maintains in Northvale, according to The Record. The move is expected in the first half of 2014.
The company says there will be no layoffs in connection with the relocation of its 80-member workforce at the Northvale plant. The company employs 340 workers at its US headquarters in Rockleigh and at a flavor factory in Teterboro.
The company received incentives from New York State and Orange County, according to Kevin J. Renskers, vice president of corporate safety and regulatory affairs for Takasago. He says the company received a property tax break and capital investment rebates, among other benefits. See story in The Record.
