HACKENSACK, NJ-Colliers International has landed a pair of Bergen County office leasing assignments totaling more than 525,000 square feet. Alfred Sanzari Enterprises awarded the assignments to Colliers for the Hackensack-based company's 335,000-square-foot Court Plaza, also in Hackensack, and the 200,000-square-foot Heights Plaza in Hasbrouck Heights.
A Colliers team of Rich Mirliss and Richard Madison, both executive managing directors with Colliers' Parsippany office, will lease both assets, says Jerry Barta, VP and director of leasing and marketing with Sanzari. Barta says the Colliers team “brings to this important assignment not just a high level of expertise, but a keen understanding of the specific product and market, and a depth of personnel.”
Built in the 1980s across from the Bergen County Courthouse, Court Plaza consists of the 10,000-square-foot Court Plaza East at 19 Main St., the 160,000-square-foot Court Plaza South at 21 Main St. and the 165,000-square-foot Court Plaza North at 25 Main St. Sanzari's headquarters are located at the complex as well.
“Court Plaza has historically been one of the drivers of the resurgence of downtown Hackensack,” says Robert Martie, EVP of the New Jersey region for Colliers. “A lot of what has happened in Hackensack has been a result of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises' efforts with this project and the way it ties into the legal community and the city's role as the county seat.”
Regarding the six-story Heights Plaza at 777 Terrace Ave. in Hasbrouck Heights, Mirlis says his team will be seeking regional “that need to be in the northern Meadowlands. This is a well-run, top-notch facility that has been continually modernized and renovated.” He adds that properties will be undergoing additional upgrades.
