LARGO, MD-The Board of Directors of Dimensions Healthcare System is expected to vote on Thursday on a proposal that would house a new $650-million hospital at the Largo Town Center.
The Dimensions Health Care System and Prince George's County have tentatively selected a parcel at the Largo Town Center for the hospital over a parcel at the Landover Mall, according to published reports. The 259-bed hospital and regional medical center will be developed jointly by the University of Maryland Medical System, Dimensions and Prince George's County.
Retail Properties of America Inc. holds a 99-year ground lease on the Largo site. If the site is officially chosen by all parties involved, a certificate of need request with the Maryland Health Care Commission must be filed. Dimensions must control the chosen site by Oct. 1.
