SAN JOSE, CA-After five years operating as a rental, Skyline at Tamien Station, an 11-story building built in 2006 is poised to offer all of its 121 units for purchase.

Developer Barry Swenson Builder, with Pacific Coast Capital Partners, planned the 11-story Skyline at Tamien Station in mid-2006 as a condominium project, says the San Jose Business Journal. The strategy changed, however when it construction was completed in 2008, and the partners decided to open it as rental given the difficult mortgage lending climate, and the need for apartments.

The Journal sees the projects conversion, announced last week, as a sign the market for Silicon Valley Condos has regained some viability.

The site says condo sales in Santa Clara County, outpacing hot sales of single family homes.
