DAVIS, CA-A new condominium project has been approved for downtown Davis, and one local broker believed the city government may be coming around to the idea of approving more.
Brian Jacks, a commercial real estate broker listing a building near the site of the condo project, told the Sacramento Business Journal that the vote could reflect at least a willingness by the city to consider infill projects on their merits.
“My takeaway is this decision confirmed the City Council is moving to consider modifications to zoning in the best interests of infill development,” Jacks told the Journal last week.
The approved project is Mission Residence, a four-story, 14-unit condominium replacing two older homes on B Street. The city of Davis has a reputation among developers as not being an easy place to get projects approved.
