HIDDEN VALLEY, PA-The owner of the Seven Springs Mountain Resort has reached an agreement to acquire the Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort here.
The Buncher Co. will be selling the resort to the ownership of the Seven Springs resort, which when finalized will have both properties under the ownership of Bob Nutting, principal owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Wheeling, W.VA based Ogden Newspapers, Inc.
No financial details of the transaction were disclosed, although a previously published report estimates the deal to be in the neighborhood of $10 million.
The Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort consists of nearly 1,200 acres that include 29 ski slopes and trails and an 18-hole golf course.
“We have long held a deep appreciation for Hidden Valley and the family experience it offers," said Nutting in a prepared statement. "I have fond memories of skiing these very slopes and the slopes of Seven Springs with my family during my childhood, and with my children. Every year, thousands of families build similar memories and experiences at Hidden Valley and Seven Springs. That is something we respect, appreciate and will build on moving forward. We want to ensure that more and more guests have the opportunity to develop the passion for the outdoors in the Laurel Highlands." See story in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
