WASHINGTON, DC-Mega bookseller Barnes & Noble announced on Wednesday plans to open a 14,000-square-foot location in Brookland.

The new store will serve as the bookstore for the Catholic University of America and an anchor for the university's $200-million, mixed-use Monroe Street Market development, according to the Washington Post.

Barnes & Noble, which has been the college's bookseller since last year, will build a new building that will feature two levels, a Starbucks and Catholic-branded apparel. The new store will face Monroe Street between Michigan Avenue and 7th Street in Northeast.

Catholic University President John Garvey states that the new Barnes & Noble “represents an exciting continuation of a positive relationship that our university has enjoyed with this major bookstore company.” See story in the Washington Post.
