SOMERVILLE, NJ-Starbucks will be the first retailer to open its doors at the new $100-million Somerville Town Center development currently under construction here by Edgewood Properties of Piscataway, NJ.
The five-story building will contain more than 100 luxury apartments, 22,600 square feet of retail space and an 8,000-square-foot restaurant, according to mycentralnewjersey.com. The new Starbucks could open as soon as later this month. The development is being built at a former supermarket strip mall that had become an eyesore to some in the community.
Commenting on Starbucks coming to town, Somerville Mayor Brian Gallagher said, “Everybody has the same reaction: 'You got a Starbucks?' — with an exclamation mark and a question mark. Starbucks has a way of selecting locations that are successful.” See story at mycentralnewjersey.com.
