SOUTHFIELD, MI-Talks are in the final stages to have auto supply company Federal Mogul Corp. relocate approximately 700 workers at its headquarters here to smaller quarters in Farmington Hills.
A real estate source tells Crain's Detroit Business that the company is intending to relocate its operations to approximately 180,000 square feet of space in the Arboretum Office Complex in Farmington Hills.
Federal Mogul is currently the sole tenant in a 360,000-square-foot, four-building complex on the corner of Lahser Road and Northwestern Highway. However, the firm only requires half that space due to a reduction in employees over the past several years, says Jim Burke, Federal-Mogul's director of corporate communications.
Burke adds that the company is in the final stages of negotiations for leased space outside of Southfield but was unable to confirm that the move will be to the Arboretum complex. See story in Crain's Detroit Business.
