NEWARK, NJ-Seafood restaurant Joe's Crab Shack was expected to open its doors for the first time at its new location in downtown Newark today.
The new Joe's Crab Shack at 860 Broad St. in the Courtyard Marriott hotel totals 5,400 square feet and will employ 140 workers.
“We looked at Newark and we were excited,” said Jim Mazany, Joe's Crab Shack president. “We saw the revitalization that was going on around the Prudential Center and thought that was a great mix for Joe's.”
The Newark restaurant is the chain's fifth in the state of New Jersey. The firm also opened its first restaurant in New York in Harlem this past July. See story in the Star-Ledger.
