NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ-Real estate executives believe Thursday's expected passage of a bill geared to revamping the state's business incentives program will foster a flurry of applications from developers.
The Senate is expected to approve an amended bill on Thursday, sending it to Governor Christie. The Assembly approved the bill Monday, after Christie issued a conditional veto, according to The Record.
Ted Zangari, a Newark development attorney who helped draft the legislation, speaking at a NAIOP breakfast in New Brunswick on Tuesday, said he is preparing about 18 applications for different companies for state incentives that will soon be administered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
"Sorry Tim," he said, speaking to EDA's president and chief operating officer, Tim Lizura. "Your office is going to be swamped." See story in The Record.
