CHICAGO-Locally-based Newcastle Limited intends to break ground any day on its 35-story apartment building on the corner of State and Chestnut streets here.
The developer acquired the project site from Loyola University Chicago. The building, when completed in the spring of 2015, will include studios, convertible, one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with parking and 3,300 square feet of street-level retail space, the company stated on Tuesday.
The 367-unit building will be designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and will join some nine residential projects currently under construction in downtown Chicago, totaling more than 3,000 units that are expected to be available next year. See story in the Chicago Tribune.
