SCHAUMBURG, IL-Swiss insurance firm Zurich has reached an agreement to acquire a portion of Motorola Solutions' campus here in order to build its new North American headquarters.
Zurich and Motorola Solutions announced the deal on Thursday. No financial terms of the sale were released.
Zurich already has a regional office in Schaumburg as well as a downtown Chicago location. In the Chicago region it currently employs approximately 2,500 workers, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The company is purchasing than 30 acres of land from Motorola Solutions, which owns 324 acres at its campus on Meacham Road and I-90. Zurich intends to relocate its suburban employees to its new headquarters building by the fall of 2016. See story in the Chicago Tribune.
